In Pointe-aux-Trembles on February 14, 2023, as part of the Transition en Commun steering committee, Jonathan Roy and René Rivest from the CDC de la Pointe – région Est de Montréal took us on a tour of their area and explained how the socio-ecological transition fits in with the particular realities of their territory (lots of green space, services and shops far away, low density, vacant spaces to be developed, mobility challenges, etc.).
This day was an opportunity to highlight the distinct realities of the neighborhood and bring together the 25 members of the Transition en Commun steering committee. On the agenda: improving the bonds of trust and solidarity between members, establishing the vision and objectives of our alliance, agreeing on modes and principles of governance, reporting on the work of committees already in place (knowledge committee, storytelling, outreach, internal city, etc.), agreeing on the priority transition themes that will soon be addressed by dedicated working groups, and discussing the importance of the crucial place of neighborhoods and citizens at the heart of Montreal’s socio-ecological transition.
Thank you to Corporation Mainbourg and CDC La Pointe for hosting this event.
