The Montreal Collective for Community Climate Resilience is a working group rooted in the Transition en commun alliance. It brings together institutions, community organizations, and civil society actors around a shared conviction: climate resilience is, above all, a matter of social justice and collective transformation. The Collective starts from the observation that climate adaptation measures in Montreal too often focus on greening and physical infrastructure, at the expense of social infrastructure —the connections, organizations, and spaces that enable communities to weather crises and bounce back. Yet it is these social levers that make the difference for the populations most vulnerable to climate hazards.

Since its public launch, the Collective has been working on four key areas: strengthening the collective, emergency situations and resilience, spaces and networks of solidarity, and indicators of resilience.
