March 11: Espace Solutions Returns for Its Second Edition! — 5 projects on over-capacity and presentations on tools for neighborhood use

Born out of a desire to identify the needs of local neighborhoods and address them collectively, Espace Solutions is back in full force for its second edition, this time with a focus on reducing car use!

On March 11, 2025, we invite you to the second Espace solutions meeting at the Salle Pierre Bourgault (J-1450) at UQAM!
The Solutions Space, conceived and tested by TeC’s Neighborhoods Division, is a platform for sharing knowledge and expertise to benefit our communities; it was created out of a desire to identify the specific needs of neighborhoods and to address them collectively.
This event, organized this time in collaboration with TeC’s Demotorization Working Group and UQAM’s Resilient Cities Hub, will showcase five neighborhood projects or issues related to excessive car use and mobility in the context of the socio-ecological transition.
The 5 featured projects:
  • Highway 40 Reconstruction —What Approach Should Be Prioritized and What Steps Should Be Taken to Engage the Public? by Francis Lapierre, a committed citizen
  • Le Bon Mouv’ – How Can We Mobilize Support and Raise Awareness for a Project in an Environment of Information Overload and Fragmented Communication Channels? – by Marie Huet of GRAME
  • Snow Removal on the Lachine Canal —What Strategies Should Be Adopted When Both the Government of Canada and the Boroughs Are Responsible for Ensuring Safe Travel in Winter?—by Martin Hamel of the Association for Active Mobility on the Lachine Canal
  • Côté Habitat – How can we encourage homeowners to undertake more comprehensive projects, including, among other things, mobility solutions at the building level? – by Valérie Sanderson of Côté Habitat
  • Dreaming of Gouin in Montréal-Nord —How Can We Convince, Mobilize, and Bring to Life a Street Safety Project in a Polarized Context?—by Jean-François Gagné for the Association for Safe Mobility in Montréal-Nord and a citizens’ group.
Participants in the event will be invited to share their knowledge and expertise regarding the cases presented.
