Culture and Transition
Through artistic practices, cultural participation, and the transmission of knowledge, it stimulates collective action, fosters connections, and transforms our relationship with life. By fostering empathy, dialogue, and a critical examination of dominant narratives, it helps mobilize a diverse range of actors and gives rise to new ways of inhabiting our living environments. Thus, culture is not merely a companion to the transition—it is a driving force behind it, connecting individuals, communities, and institutions around shared visions and renewed practices of living together.
2023–2024
The Récits Committee
From the very beginning of the alliance, the Stories Committee was created as a space to listen to, bring to light, and share a diverse range of narratives about the socio-ecological transition. By highlighting diverse voices, forms, and imaginations, it has supported their creation, promotion, and integration into TEC’s activities. Through artistic and outreach approaches, it helped transform imaginaries, mobilize support around a shared vision, and strengthen stakeholders’ commitment to a just, inclusive, and meaningful transition. It is in part thanks to the Narratives Committee that dozens of briefs were drafted, which today form the foundation of the alliance’s knowledge base.

A Call for Proposals to Develop a Creative and Participatory Evaluation Methodology
As part of the “Green and Resilient Cultural Montreal” pilot project, Transition en commun has partnered with the City of Montreal’s Culture Department to launch this call for proposals aimed at developing a creative and participatory evaluation methodology for cultural outreach projects and citizen-led initiatives.
