New Tools for Evaluating Mobility Projects: The Montreal GHG Calculator and Behavioral Changes!
As a result of a collaborative effort between Solon, Coop Carbone, and the Alliance’s Demotorization Working Group, two new tools are now available to help neighborhood stakeholders in Montreal evaluate their mobility projects.

The Montreal Mobility GHG Calculator
This new tool measures greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions from Montreal’s mobility initiatives through an accessible and user-friendly interface.
“The purpose of this Calculator is to provide a shared metric for civil society organizations and citizen groups to facilitate certain funding requests and accountability.”
The calculator allows you to estimate, in a standardized manner, the GHG emissions avoided across various modes of personal transportation as a result of your sustainable mobility projects. Based on the most recent data from Montreal, it offers a rigorous and standardized approach that makes it easier to assess the positive impacts of your mobility projects.
A Brief Guide to Assessing Behavioral Changes
Because your mobility projects have impacts that go beyond reducing GHG emissions, Solon has made a short guide available to demystify and simplify the assessment of changes in mobility behaviors for organizations. The content of the guide and the recorded training session highlight key best practices and simple tools you can implement to tailor the evaluation of your projects to your specific circumstances and needs.
Who are they intended for?
These tools are intended for neighborhood stakeholders (organizations, citizen groups, boroughs, businesses, or institutions) that are implementing projects aimed at reducing dependence on cars and promoting sustainable modes of transportation. They are particularly useful for project leaders who wish to document their projects’ impacts and effectively communicate their results to stakeholders.

During last Tuesday’s training session, which featured the first demonstration of the calculator, several participants shared their thoughts:
