The Communications Coordination team defines and implements strategies and action plans to ensure effective communication and raise the profile of Transition en Commun, as well as the various initiatives led by the alliance that require communication efforts. It also coordinates the Mobilization and Outreach Committee.
About Transition en Commun
Transition en Commun (TeC) brings together an alliance of citizens, stakeholders, and civil society organizations, the City of Montreal, and other institutions around a collaborative process with two overarching objectives: (1) to foster, promote, celebrate, and mobilize support for a shared vision of socio-ecological transition (SET); (2) to collectively equip ourselves with the means to implement it, notably through new commitments from the relevant institutions, starting in Montréal/Tiohtià:ke and to support neighborhood-led mobilization for the transition.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Communications Coordination
- Coordinate internal communications (with members) and external communications (with the public);
- Participate in the design of a 360-degree communications strategy for TeC (a project outsourced to an external firm) and its implementation
- Ensure that the brand identity, communication strategies, artistic direction, and graphic style guides are maintained across the organization’s platforms and in its productions;
- Develop and implement targeted communications strategies (social media, website, events, media, newsletters, etc.);
- Coordinate the publishing schedule for social media and the newsletter;
- Ensure that the website is updated and developed (in collaboration with the external firm);
- Write content for various communication platforms and develop partnerships for special content;
- Manage relationships with our suppliers related to communications projects;
- Help organize certain events (training sessions, webinars, presentations, etc.)—in collaboration with the general coordination team;
- Create presentation tools;
- Manage media relations;
- Support the preparation of public statements by representatives of the alliance and its governing bodies;
- Support the coordinating bodies of TeC’s committees and governing bodies in their communications initiatives and strategies.
- Coordination of the Outreach and Mobilization Committee
- Coordinate the logistics for the group’s activities (venue, schedules, invitations, etc.)
- Manage the budget allocated to the group in collaboration with general management
- Prepare, facilitate, and follow up on meetings, in close collaboration with the co-chairs
- Engage committee members and facilitate interpersonal communication
- Serve as a liaison with other TeC departments and bodies, including general coordination
- Coordinate the documentation of the committee’s work
- Coordinate the assignment of tasks to third parties (students, interns, consultants, etc.)
Required Qualifications, Experience, and Profile
- At least 5 years of relevant experience related to the position
- Relevant experience in communications within the institutional sector or nonprofit organizations
- Excellent command of French, both written and spoken. Good command of English—a plus.
- Awareness of Socio-Ecological Transition Issues in Montreal/Tiohtià:ke
- Commitment to issues of social justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion
- Ability to work with collaborative digital tools
- Independence, resourcefulness, and leadership
- Versatility and Creativity
- Organizational, prioritization, and planning skills
- Ability to handle unexpected situations and demonstrate flexibility
- Ability to work as part of a team

Working Conditions
- Hybrid (remote and in-person). Our team meets and works on a regular basis in shared workspaces (Cité des Hospitalières and Ateliers de la transition RPP), and we really enjoy moving from neighborhood to neighborhood (in Montreal/Tiohtià:ke) to get a better feel for the unique characteristics of each area.

- Work hours and work methods are flexible.

- Starting pay range: $32/hour to $40/hour. Salary is determined based on experience.
- Preferred employee status—possibility of a contractual status.
